1} Christmas
The Christmas cards have been addressed, stuffed, stamped and mailed out!
I was finally able to decorate the Christmas tree this week, which actually proves to be pretty difficult when you have an {
EXTREMELY} active 1 year old boy standing behind you waiting to grab and throw all of the 'balls' that mommy is hanging on the tree.
No worries, mommy had a plan!
Step 1: Hang beads while daddy is distracting child.
Step 2: Hang black ornaments with wire loops and fold fake tree branches around wire.
Step 3: Hang red ornaments with curling ribbon and double knot onto branches.
Step 4: Add decoy ribbon to tree branches.
So far, this has proved to be an efficient way to keep the ornaments on the tree. This definitely does not stop him though, now he thinks it's funny that they do not come off the tree . . . he can hit them like a punching bag. Oh dear!!
Another thing that I'm {
LOVING} about Christmas is my friend Gwen! She has bought me gifts for 17 business days of Christmas. How fun!!!
On the 1st business day of Christmas, my co-worker gave to me a 4 pack of facial tissues.
On the 2nd business day of Christmas, my co-worker gave to me a red and green lint roller.
On the 3rd business day of Christmas, my co-worker gave to me magnetic 'C' inscribed stationary.
On the 4th business day of Christmas, my co-worker gave to me a pair of red socks with white fluffies.
On the 5th business day of Christmas, my co-worker gave to me a pair of tweezers that are quite curvy.
2} Fun with my Son
Who said raising a boy would be {EASY}? Oh yeah, that was me! Boy, was I wrong (pun intended).
Being the mother of a boy means . . .
You have to expect that he will not listen or care when you tell him something is {DANGEROUS}.
Therefore, you have to let him get hurt.
You need to realize that you are raising a man, wow, where do I even begin with that?
You have to expect that mothers with daughters may not understand.
That they are easier to get ready, no hair accessories, braiding or pig tails here!
You need to rely on his daddy to explain the 'boy' things.
Mommy is the only one that can fix boo boos and hurt feelings
I have a lot to learn and a lot to look forward to! I'm proud to be the mother of a boy, I think I was blessed with exactly what I needed . . . a laid back, danger seeking, strong willed, occasional cuddle bunny, food loving, bound to be dirty little boy with a wonderful sense of humor!
3} My last day of school!
On Monday, December 12th I will complete my BSIT degree with a focus in multimedia/visual communications. That's 5 {DAYS} . . . OMG!! Hard work this week and then I'm {DONE}
XOXO
